Bluetooth range extensions
- Use a Shelly device to extend the Bluetooth sensors range of your GX. Ie the distance between a compatible device that is being read out over bluetooth and the GX itself. This was already possible by using bluetooth USB dongles on a long USB extension cable, which was nice, but this new option adds a lot of value and flexibility. The Shelly will work as the Bluetooth data receiver and then transmits all data to the GX over either wired ethernet or WiFi.

To configure the GX device:
-
Via VictronConnect >= v6.40:
- Connect to the GX device via Bluetooth
- Go to Settings -> Bluetooth Sensors
-
Enable the desired devices
When a device cannot be enabled and shows a lock, it means that VictronConnect does not have the necessary encryption key. To solve this, first connect with VictronConnect to the device via Bluetooth. VictronConnect will then fetch and store the key.
-
Via the New UI:
- Go the New UI of the GX device (via its screen or via Remote console)
- Go to Settings -> Integrations -> Bluetooth Sensors
-
Enable the desired devices or provide the required encryption
key.
Most Victron products, with the exception of the SolarSense 750, require an Encryption key that can be found in VictronConnect by connecting to the product, go to Settings -> Product Info -> Encryption Data.
